Our Review of Thumbelina ~ 3D Interactive Pop-up Book
The Thumbelina app, designed by StoryToys, the leader of making 3D interactive pop-up storybook apps for kids, is absolutely a delightful interactive adaptation of the classic fairytale of the the same name.
So, as usual, your young readers get a beautiful virtual paper book in the app, in which they’ll find nine fully interactive 3D scenes filled with cool, fun games and puzzles, with colorful graphics and three reading modes: Read to Me, Read it Myself, and Autoplay.
Kids will find it fun to: help guide Thumbelina cross the river full of quirky monsters, play tunes with singing birds, etc. And some other interactions will definitely appeal to girls as the young ladies can nurse the injured swallow and help colored spiders make a wedding dress for Thumbelina (it’s actually not THAT wedding dress, by the way, although the thumb-sized girl will meet her little prince at the end of the story.) Also, kids will meet many cute, kind animal friends along the way.
What’s more, this storybook app includes a dazzling 3D sticker book and some jigsaw puzzles. The 3D sticker book, which is a very good way to inspire kids’ creativity, is very cool; it allows kids to create their very own 3D scenes and watch them come to life. The sad thing, however, is that if your kids want more stickers or jigsaws to play, you need to do an IAP :S
This Thumbelina app is a top-notch product; I like the high quality artwork and sound effects and I can see that the app developer has been working hard to try to add some new elements to the interactions included.
Lastly, I want to say that I’m satisfied with the design of THIS Thumbelina; she has a cool modern hairstyle and looks very healthy and pretty.
